Royal Opera House

The Royal Opera House is one of the important landmarks of cultural communication and classy musical art in Oman. It confirms the extent of interest in cultural openness to the world, leading to the cultural diversity found in the Sultanate of Oman. The Royal Opera House offers many classy arts and innovative programs that support fields of knowledge and inspiration for all visitors from Oman and around the world, promote cultural tourism, and emphasize the role of art as a diplomatic mediator by spreading the spirit of rapprochement between the people around the world.

The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque

is one of the most famous landmarks of Muscat and one of the largest mosques ordered by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said – may his soul rest in peace - to be built. It represents Islamic architecture. The design of the mosque is characterized by the various architectural arts and murals such as Moroccan Zelij art and Mughal murals next to corridors, domes, lighthouses and gardens. The vast expanse and water fountains, covers an area of 40,000 square meters, and the main prayer hall is decorated with the largest Persian carpet in the world, woven by the hands of more than six hundred women over four years.

Souq Muttrah

Souq Muttrah is one of the ancient oriental markets due to its narrow winding corridors roofed with wood. It is characterized by the diversity of its exhibits, whether from handicrafts such as silverware, daggers, traditional fabrics, copper and pottery utensils, clothes, shoes, etc. In addition, you can find many famous Omani sweets and various spices. As soon as you reach the Souq Muttrah, you will smell frankincense and other Arabic perfumes.

Nizwa Fort

Nizwa Fort was built during the reign of Imam Sultan bin Saif bin Malik Al Yarubi (1649-1679 AD) at the beginning of the eleventh century AH / mid seventeenth century AD. Building the fort took twelve years. Its height is 34 m, and its diameter is 45 m. It serves as a flat-roof platform erected on a base of crushed stones, its height is 15 m and it around 30 m to the ground. It is equipped with cannon holes. It has seven doors, and at each door a turn. These doors have defensive openings at the top.

Bahla Fort

Bahla Fort is one of the oldest and biggest forts in Oman, and the only fort in the country to be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Official statements say that the oldest parts of the fort were built as early as the year 500 BC. Bahla Fort is located in Bahla and is less than two hours away by car from Muscat.

Wadi Dayqah Dam

Wadi Dayqah Dam is considered the biggest one in the Sultanate of Oman. It was built in 2012 to collect the rain falling from the high peaks and to control the water flowing volume through the narrow torrent, to the villages below. Being a reflection of Omani impressive engineering, it has a storage capacity of 100 million cubic meters of water. The storage lake covers an area of 350 hectares, extending about 6km from the main body of the dam. The dam comprises two dams: the major one is 75 meters (246 feet) high, and the minor one is an earthen dam 48.5 meters (149 feet) high.

A'Sharqiyah Sands

A'Sharqiyah Sands are considered among the most beautiful camping areas in the Sultanate and extend over an area of up to about 10 thousand square kilometers. The Sand colors range from red to brown as far as the eye can see. It is the original homeland of the Bedouins. This area attracts many desert adventure fans, and is preferred by visitors owing to its ease of accessibility and availability of nearby services, which make it a first class tourist attraction.
